New ice cream franchise to rock Parramatta

logo_coldrockParramatta residents can create their own designer ice creams when Cold Rock Ice Creamery opens in the city on July 23. The new store is located in the heart of Parramatta’s dining hub in Church Street and is owned by friends Joe Mezher and Fares Moukarzel. The outlet will provide employment for 15 locals.

The old school friends, who have known each other for over 40 years, said they were excited about introducing the Cold Rock brand to the Parramatta community.

“We’ve always loved the Cold Rock concept and when we discovered there was an opportunity to open in this premier location, we went for it,” Mr Mezher said.

“We are the only major ice creamery on the strip and it’s a great fit for the area. After diners have finished at the restaurants they can visit Cold Rock and create their own delicious desserts.”

Customers can choose from Cold Rock’s premium ice cream, low-fat ice cream, gelato and sorbet flavours and then add their favourite ‘mix-ins’ to their creations. The creation is then smashed together on a refrigerated slab known as the ‘Cold Rock’.

“Customers can smash M&Ms and Oreos into cookies and cream ice cream, or strawberries and fudge into vanilla ice cream, or Flake and Gummi Bears into bubblegum ice cream. Your options are only limited by your imagination,” Mr Mezher said.

“Cold Rock stands out from the crowd because we give our customers the power to create what they want. We see lots of potential for growth with Cold Rock as today’s consumer wants products which they can customise to their own tastes.

“And besides, watching your ice cream creation get smashed up in front of you is just great fun.”

Cold Rock is a national franchise with more than 90 stores.

Cold Rock Parramatta is located at 1-302 Church Street and will be open from 10am – 11pm daily.
